At Living Well Community Care Center (LWCCC), we believe in the power of holistic care and compassion to bring healing and empowerment to our communities. Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals, community activists, and Christian ministers is committed to supporting individuals facing immense challenges, particularly those affected by domestic maltreatment, abuse, and lack of access to quality healthcare.

LWCCC’s core programs are centered on connecting underserved community members with essential resources, providing mentorship to empower individuals, and addressing the unique needs of those who are uninsured, abused, or otherwise underserved. As a team composed largely of minority professionals, we are uniquely aware of the impact that meaningful care can make in the lives of others. We aim to bring lasting, transformative change to individuals who have often been left without support.

Mission Statement

First Impact

Our launch story centers around Abby-Gayle, a young woman in Jamaica who required a life-saving heart surgery. Her mother discovered LWCCC through social media, and the organization played a pivotal role in gathering resources and support to fund her surgery (her mom is pictured on the left receiving a $16, 000 check to cover the cost of Abby’s heart surgery).

In June 2023, LWCCC led by Dr Joan Williamson, Minister Paulette Mowatt-Donaldson and other members of team decided to continue their efforts to improve the lives of the less-fortunate. They made their way to Brown’s Town, St Ann Jamaica to the Pentecostal City Mission Church as the Epicenter for Donations of clothes, shoes, toiletries, food for families, and free medical care for more than four hundred residents of the community. This church was under construction at the time.

Pentecostal City Mission Church Project

Dr Williamson spoke to the pastor of the church, Reverend Hunter about her desires to assist. Although with limited financial resources at the time she pledged to source the money for the tiling of the church building. Presently, the construction is completed. (see the finished church on the right).

Dr Joan Williamson who is also a Reverend had been scheduled to be the speaker at a Women’s Conference at the same church the day after the community charity event. It was the Sunday while preaching that The Reverend Dr. Joan Williamson, by faith declared that she is challenging the team members of LWCCC to assist in giving back to the church by providing the tiles for the obviously concreted floor that worship services were being conducted several days a week including large gatherings on Sundays.

Her ability to inspire others to reach their potential is a testament to her dedication to uplifting those around her.

Marie’s mission took on a deeply personal dimension during her time caring for her aged paternal grandmother, Iris Bell, in St. Mary, Jamaica. While assisting in her grandmother’s care and frequently traveling to oversee her treatment at Annotto Bay Hospital, Marie observed the hospital’s need for essential medical equipment and resources. These challenges motivated her to take action, not only as a nurse but as a compassionate advocate for improved healthcare access.

Inspired by her grandmother’s legacy, Marie and her family launched the Make A Difference (MAD) Foundation: The Bell Batten Initiative, dedicated to enhancing and restructuring the Annotto Bay Hospital. This foundation honors her grandmother, affectionately known as “Mama Iris Bell,” who lived to the remarkable age of 104. Although Mama Iris transitioned just a month ago, her life and strength have further fueled Marie’s drive to create lasting change.

Through her dual leadership roles at LWCCC and the MAD Foundation, Marie Bell-Dobson continues to channel her compassion and expertise into meaningful action. Her vision is to make an enduring positive impact on individuals, communities, and organizations by providing mentorship, support, and resources to improve lives.
